Strengths: Jay is a well rounded player who has tons of experience. He does very well against strong opponents and has many GM scalps under his belt.
Weaknesses: Jay is very well rounded, but if he has any weakness it's that he plays a lot of different offbeat openings which aren't necessarily very good. He plays so many games every year that he probably just gets bored with playing main lines all the time.
Amusing Story:
IM Jay Bonin is one of the great legends of New York Chess. He is the most active player in the United States, playing literally hundreds of rated chess games every year. He played in every single New York Masters tournament ever held (130 tournaments total I believe). During this time period when the NY Masters was running, he broke 700 games in 1 year. Jay has commented that he has no time to study chess, since he plays so often!
Reason for this song choice:
Jay plays so many games of chess every year that I figured a song titled "Do It Again" would be fitting.
