Strengths: Eliz.. I mean Liz is very good at positions where she knows what she's supposed to be doing. She definitely does better in positional games where the pawn structure in the center is established.
Weaknesses: Elizabeth is much weaker when she needs to come up with her own plan at the board. If she gets an unfamiliar position out of the opening where she has to do this, she has trouble. This is why she does much better with fixed pawn structures because the plans don't change.
Amusing Story:
Before the 2007 US Women's Championship, my good friend IM Dave Vigorito was helping Elizabeth prepare. Liz was concerned with the Scandinavian, and knowing I had just done some preparation on the opening, Dave asked me if I could send him my notes to give to Liz. I thought nothing of it and sent it over. During the tournament, I became somewhat famous for some of the negative comments I was making about women's chess on the USCF website. There was even discussion of me having a match with Anna Zatonskih (who happens to play the Scandinavian on occasion). Elizabeth later blogged on the USCF website thanking me for my notes that she used to prepare for Anna.
Reason for this song choice:
Elizabeth is very famous in the US Chess scene, and unfortunately for her this has attracted a few stalkers. This song really captures the whole stalker/being paranoid thing.
